# We're Having A Sale!

Because we don't have investors and don't run ads on the page, everyone we pay and everything we do here at Aftermath is only made possible because, at time of writing, ~~5,198~~ 5345 people are paying to read the website.

We couldn't be more appreciative of those folks,[ but as we've outlined already this week, we have big goals for this website](https://aftermath.site/aftermath-subscriber-goals-2026/), and that involves getting even *more* people paying for a subscription. To help kick that along, we're running a sale. Actually, to be more exact, we're running *two* sales.

Our 'Reader' tier subscription, which lets you read every Aftermath story and comment underneath them, normally costs $7 a month (if you're paying monthly). If you sign up this week, though, your first month will only cost $1\. A whole month of Aftermath for a buck!
