Gita, Chris and Luke got together this week to talk about why everyone can't stop talking about *Mixtape*.

Being a teenager mostly blows. I'd prefer to forget most of that time. But nostalgia for one's teenage years has always been fruitful grounds for fictional stories of varying qualities. Entering that gauntlet now is the video game *Mixtape*, which is at once the [victim of the typical anti-woke grifter discourse](https://aftermath.site/mixtape-reviews-controversy-criticism-twitter-youtube/) and also just, [not an amazing video game](https://aftermath.site/mixtape-review-game-90s/). 

Luke, who reviewed the video game and also is the exact demographic that it is supposed to appeal to, wanted to remind us all that despite the quite hostile conversations, there *is* an actual game in there that has a couple bits that are fun to play. Stick around for the tangent on why movies like *Can't Hardly Wait*, *Reality Bites* and *Singles* hit where *Mixtape* often misses.
