The Steam Frame Is Good, But For Who?

Chris reviewed the new Steam Frame VR headset earlier this week, and was really positive about it. But Chris is also a bit of a sicko for this stuff, which has me wondering: Is this thing going to be breakthrough VR device for the masses, or just another option for the converted? On this week's episode of Aftermath Hours, we talk about it.

For this week's podcast we're joined by The Verge's Sean Hollister, and we were left with...well, a lot of thoughts about the Steam Frame, as well as VR's future and place in the market in general. We also had some feelings about Half-Life: Alyx that Chris has since put on the website and I, someone nowhere near as into VR as the other two guests this week, have put on Bluesky.

hi, i dont like this game, i think for the most part its a glorified tech demo with absolutely terrible combat sequences and deeply annoying and repetitive box-opening puzzles its legacy, if anything, is to prove that maybe nobody can make a truly good vr shooter.
